LA Trip: I

Robin signed up to vend her mushroom design t-shirts and other products at a Mycology event in Los Angeles (Arcadia, technically) this past Sunday. We hoped to combine business with pleasure.

Interstate 5, southbound, as seen from the window of the rental car. The valley is just as flat here as it is from Vacaville to Redding.

These two from a rest stop roughly halfway there. I worked a 5 hour shift before Robin picked me up on the way, more or less. The traffic just getting out of the Bay Area itself was pretty hellish, even 4 hours before rush hour begins. Naturally we made a few stops on the way, but where Google Maps says it takes about 6 hour to get to LA, it took us about 8.5. At least the price of regular is pretty cheap now.

About an hour after the previous shots.

Typical of things one sees in Pasadena just as the sun peeks over the horizon on a Saturday.

One thing I wanted to see, at least if it was merely the front gate, since we were in Pasadena. This ain't South Central.

Travel Museum, close to downtown Los Angeles.
