They've been working on this project since right after I started working at my present job. This is on the site of the former Jack Tar Hotel @ Van Ness & Geary. When they started to tear the hotel down, it shook the ground. I thought I was experiencing an earthquake.
Down there is the intersection of Van Ness & Geary, which was closed last Friday.
Up that way is Cathedral Hill. A few more blocks that way (west) is Japan Town.
They tore down a building here so they could make a parking garage for the gigantic hospital.
I have older photos of this work site which I might post here later.
