Been a long time since we visited Matsuri, thought we'd see if they have any lunch specials. They do have a Bento Box lunch special, but we tried other stuff, like the Albacore with daikon sprouts, shiso and garlic chips served over sushi rice. Brilliant. Below is the Sashimi combo, also great, of course.
Matsuri (across the street from Seafood City on Redwood) is the better of the two Japanese restaurants in Vallejo, and based on my one visit, arguably the best in the city limits. They have great specials during 5-6:30 Happy Hours--in the foreground above you see squid and seaweed salads, the background, $1 Oysters, which were out of this world.
Spicy tuna rolls. Discount on all maki rolls.
Grilled smelts. Love them!
Sea bass, albacore tuna, and yellow tail. Succulent & super fresh.
