Tacos Michoacan in American Canyon

On a whim, we decided to check this place out, before shopping while hungry (always a bad idea). Robin found out this place is affiliated with our favorite taco place in Napa when we want pork, beef and other land animals. Below you can see everything, including the awesome salsas and chips that were thick and not salted. Above, the taco to the left is Cabeza (or what is called Barbacoa in Texas)--beef cheek meat cooked long, low and slow. To the right: Pastor, pork marinated in chile sauce then grilled. Outstanding!

Carne Asada (grilled beef) in foreground, cubed Lengua (beef tongue) in the background. Probably the best Lengua I've ever had. All the meat was spiced more than usual, and we thought we could taste a bit of clove or cinnamon in the pastor. This place rocks, all the meats are cooked until tender and luscious. Escabeche marinated with authority, salsas with the perfect marriage of fresh and spicy. Can't wait to try their Menudo, Chipotle Chuletas, Pork Ribs & other taco meats.
