Farm Burger: Permanently Closed

Got some sad news. The Berkeley location closed last year, and last I had heard, Farm Burger was moving a second location to Marin County. It appears that The Hub has taken Farm Burger's place (similar menu) in San Anselmo, and the second location never opened.

So consistent. Build your own Farm Burger with roasted Garlic and Smoked Paprika Mayo. Rare!

Locally sourced!

Gilman's really changed--Whole Foods, REI, and now this cluster of stores including Farm Burger. Today was my 4th visit.

Fourth time I've eaten there. Every time it is the same thing: best god-damned hamburger I've ever had, mainly because the quality & flavor of the meat is so good. Also, they've got free sides like Roasted Garlic and Smoked Paprika Mayo. $7.50 for one of these things. I hardly ever eat beef these days (I think I've bought it for home consumption once or maybe twice in the last year), but I have tried a 3-4 other high end (some even using Wagyu beef) burger places, but nobody comes close. We tried Barney's the other day. Great burger, costs about twice as much. The meat is good but lacks flavor compared to this.

Saw this one ridiculous review on Yelp comparing Farm Burger to Fuddrucker's (an expensive version, he said). Obviously the person doesn't know what he's talking about because $7.50 was close to what Fuddrucker's burgers were selling for 30 freakin' years ago! Not to mention that it tasted like a combination of Burger King & Whataburger--in other words, like the best fast food burger you can imagine, but 3X more expensive.

Totally like Amateur Food Porn, so delirious that the shot is out of focus.

Screw it! I'm using a fork and knife.

I've also tried Five Guys (way better than any fast food burger, but not even close to this good), The Habit (similar to Barney's--pretty good, but not as flavorful as this), and Pyramid on Gilman (one time their Wagyu Burger was pretty close to Farm Burger; the next time more like Barney's, and not worth it considering the price).

We've been to Farm Burger a few times since our last visit, including at this location here in Marin County, and today (3/4/18) was our second visit to that location. Above is Robin's Build-Your-Own Grass-fed hamburger, Medium rare with smoked paprika mayo, roasted garlic, iceberg lettuce, red onion, tomato and avocado.

Above and two below you can see my Farm Burger, a build-your-own Lamb Burger, Rare with tomato, roasted garlic and smoked paprika mayo. Their high quality lamb is locally sourced from Superior Farms in Davis & Dixon.

Above is a partial list of local sources. Farm Burger has some serious competition now, but they are still #1when it comes to burgers.
